Our mission

Greenfoodfinder wants to promote the production and sale of green foods in order to contribute to a more sustainable society.

We want to achieve this by offering an online B2B marketplace for sellers and buyers of green ingredients and products and we want to contribute to greening the product ranges of industrial production companies by doing a baseline measurement followed by a sustainability advice.

What we believe in!

We are convinced that the food market is in need of greening.
In our years of experience, we have noticed that within the market there is a growing demand for sustainable products but solutions were not always easy to find. That is why we started Greenfoodfinder, a green meeting place where supply and demand for green food(ingredients) comes together in order to contribute to sustainability.

What's green?

We have defined 'green' by 8 key characteristics; these are driven by megatrends and support 8 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDGs are the sustainable development goals to make the world a better place by 2030. These goals have been agreed by 193 countries that are members of the United Nations (UN). These 8 key characteristics are the green foundation for our platform. All ingredients and products found on our platform meet at least 2 of the 8 described green characteristics and thus contribute to these sustainable development goals. In addition, these are the characteristics on which we can help companies to green their product range.

How do we contribute ourselves?

Next to starting this platform, we as Greenfoodfinder also want to make a direct contribution to a better world. Therefore we donate 10% of our annual profit to the goals listed below.

International social charity goal:

  • UPF: Greenfoodfinder is Platinum partner of United Packaging Forest. An organization that is committed to (re)planting trees to compensate for the CO2 emissions of the entire production chain. More than 10 billion trees are lost every year. By planting trees, we jointly compensate for the CO2 emissions of the entire production chain.

As a start-up, we have decided for the time being to support only UPF as an international charity goal. When we will actually make profit, we will also focus on the following goals:

  • The Great Green Wall (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 8, 13 en 15)
  • UNGEI: United Nations Girl Education Initiative (SDGs 3, 4, 5, 11, 13 en 15)
  • Charity, chosen by own staff
